The English-taught program “Master of Arts in Political Science” offered by the University of Mannheim prepares students to analyse data using advanced formal and statistical methods. Students can gain expertise in many areas: international politics, comparative politics, political economy, European societies and politics, and formal and quantitative methods. The modules of which the course of studies is compound are methods modules, the basic modules International Politics, Comparative Politics and Advanced Methods and the equivalent research modules. Students must attend one seminar or lecture and two advanced seminars in one of the three research modules. In the fourth semester students write their Master` thesis and take part in colloquium. A mandatory research internship is also incorporated in the curriculum. Graduates can pursue academic career or work in the fields of management, policy consulting, government, international organizations and etc.
