The degree “Bachelor of Education in Teacher Education Gymnasium: Economics and Business Administration” offered by the University of Mannheim provides an education in two main subjects – “Economics and Business Administration”, and “Education Sciences and Teaching Methodology”. Current topics related to the economics are discussed in the Economics and Business Administration major, such as the economic consequences of Brexit, the 2008 financial crisis and etc. In this way, students learn how economies work. Moreover, participants attend courses in Management, Finance and Accounting. Via interdisciplinary classes, students are helped to cope up with the challenges that come when teaching multicultural groups. The fundamental scientific concepts behind teaching and learning are covered in Education Sciences classes, which are supplemented by practical experiences during the first tutoring sessions. The conventional option for graduates is to work as teachers. But for that, they should also complete a Master of Education. Optionally, graduates can build career in finance and accounting or business consultancy.
