The degree “Bachelor of Education in Teacher Education Gymnasium: History`` offered by the University of Mannheim is compound of two main subject areas – History and Education Sciences and Teaching Methodology. The course of study provides the foundations for those who want to become school teachers. But in order to be eligible for the position, they should also complete the Master of Education. Focal point of the History courses is the economic, legal and social history of Europe and the USA. Students are educated about all historical period through the decades. Teaching Methodology classes provide comprehensive preparation on various methods to teach pupils at school. Via interdisciplinary classes, students are helped to cope up with the challenges that come when teaching multicultural groups. The fundamental scientific concepts behind teaching and learning are covered in Education Sciences classes, which are supplemented by practical experiences during the first tutoring sessions.
