The degree “Bachelor of Education in Teacher Education Gymnasium: Informatics`` offered by the University of Mannheim is consisted of two centre subject areas: Informatics and Education Sciences and Teaching Methodology. The course of study provides students with the foundation needed for a teacher career, but they should first complete the Master of Education. For those not interested in this sector, a variety of jobs in IT area are available such as Software Developer of IT Project Manager. Informatics modules teach students about the field`s core methodical and technical concepts, such as algorithms and programming, and also about computer systems and different databases. Via interdisciplinary classes, students are helped to cope up with the challenges that come when teaching multicultural groups. The fundamental scientific concepts behind teaching and learning are covered in Education Sciences classes, which are supplemented by practical experiences during the first tutoring sessions.
