The degree “Bachelor of Education in Teacher Education Gymnasium: Mathematics`` incorporates two main subjects: “Mathematics”, and “Education Sciences and Teaching Methodology”. Modules in Mathematics provide an overview of the subject as well as the areas in which it is applied. Modules on basic mathematical concepts, for example analysis and linear algebra, are taught in the first semester. Later in the curriculum, students expand their knowledge. Via interdisciplinary classes, students are helped to cope up with the challenges that come when teaching multicultural groups. The fundamental scientific concepts behind teaching and learning are covered in Education Sciences classes, which are supplemented by practical experiences during the first tutoring sessions. The conventional option for graduates is to work as teachers. But for that, they should also complete a Master of Education. Alternatively, graduates can take up a career in an insurance company or a bank.
