The degree “Bachelor of Education in Teacher Education Gymnasium: Spanish`` offered by the University of Mannheim is compound of two equally important subjects – “Spanish”, and “Education Sciences and Teaching Methodology”. Through the classes in the Spanish module (Literary studies and Linguistics) students learn about Spain`s literature, culture and language. They are taught literary theories, with the help of which Spanish literature and media are analysed. The program improves the language proficiency of the students greatly. Via interdisciplinary classes, students are helped to cope up with the challenges that come when teaching multicultural groups. The fundamental scientific concepts behind teaching and learning are covered in Education Sciences classes, which are supplemented by practical experiences during the first tutoring sessions. The conventional option for graduates is to work as teachers. But for that, they should also complete a Master of Education. Optionally, graduate can specialize in the cultural or linguistic sector.
