Description

Rescue Management, also referred to as Emergency Aid and Rescue Management, is an academic field of study that focuses on the management and distribution of resources and responsibilities in cases of incidents and disasters. The main aim of Rescue Management is to reduce the effects of all hazards and efficiently prevent or handle dangerous situations that may cause harm to humans. Rescue Management studies provide students with understanding of concepts like emergency services, patient care and healthcare management. Rescue Management is an interdisciplinary field and most commonly teaches subjects like Natural Sciences, Human Anatomy and Physiology, General Disease and Pathology, Psychology and Sociology for Paramedics, Foundations of Emergency Medicine, Health Economics, Management and Administration and others. Practice is very important in Rescue Management degree programs, insofar as students are encouraged to participate in rescue service projects and internships where they can gain interpersonal, problem-solving, critical decision-making and strong communication skills. Potential careers for Rescue Management graduates include positions in the management of emergency services, rescue teaching and training, scientific research and more.
