The University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, founded in 1765, is a public university seated in Vienna. It is comprised of five departments: the Department of Biomedical Sciences, the Department of Pathobiology, the Department of Farm Animals and Veterinary Public Health, the Department/Hospital for Companion Animals and Horses, and the Department of Integrative Biology and Evolution. The University currently has a total of 2,3000 enrolled in programs at Diploma, Bachelor, Master, doctoral as well as PhD level. It offers the Diploma/doctoral program “Veterinary Medicine“, the Bachelor programs “Equine Sciences“, “Biomedicine and Biotechnology“, the Master programs “Comparative Biomedicine“, “Comparative Vertebrate Morphology“, “Human-Animal-Interactions“, “Evolutionary Systems Biology“, “Wildlife Ecology and Wildlife Management“, as well as a PhD program.
