The six-semester study program “Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering - Automation” offered by Westphalian University located in Bocholt prepares students for future career as engineers. The title of the program “Electrical Engineering - Automation” is meant to convey that this is not a broad electrical engineering course with many emphases, but rather one with a highly particular concentration. The development of software for intelligent systems in the main course is dedicated to the specific needs of so-called “embedded systems”. Furthermore, students will gain understanding of electronic circuit development, depending on the elective modules they select. Students will also have the opportunity of gaining professional experience throughout the included practical phase. Upon successful completion of the program graduates are qualified to work in the areas of home automation, medical technology, mechatronic, etc.
