The six-semester study program “Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering” offered by Westphalian University located in Gelsenkirchen provides students with knowledge and skills in two phases: From the first to the third semester students will gain foundation understanding in the scientific, mathematical, and engineering ground of mechanical engineering, and then they will make a decision on their major subject and learn all about it from the fourth till the sixth semester. Available to choose from are Construction technology, Manufacturing engineering, and Automation technology. Besides the classes form the engineering modules, participants will attend management and language modules. Incorporated to the curriculum, there is a practical phase which takes place in the sixth semester. It lasts 12 weeks and it is done in a company. The program concludes with the completion of the Bachelor`s thesis.
