Description
The application-oriented six-semester study program “Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Biological and Chemical Technologies” offered by Westphalian University located in Recklinghausen provides students with knowledge and skills in the natural science discipline, including biology, chemistry, process engineering. The content will be taught through lectures, exercises, projects works, etc. Incorporated to the curriculum, there are internships held in small groups in laboratories. Modules such as “Raw Materials and Sustainability”, “Biology and Sustainability” and “Process Engineering and Sustainability” are taught to convey a whole understanding of the word “Sustainability”. In the fifth semester students can select one of the three specialization subjects- Sustainable Biotechnology, green chemistry and chemical processes, or new materials. There is a practical part in the sixth semester, followed by the Bachelor`s thesis. Graduates of the program are qualified to work in the research and development departments, application laboratories, etc.
