“Bachelor of Engineering in IT Forensics” is a part-time distance learning study course with a duration of eight semesters provided by the Wismar University of Applied Sciences, Technology, Business and Design. The course is primarily oriented towards exploring the automatic analysis of large amounts of media and data while teaching how to systematically evaluate videos, photos, e-mails and all social media posts. During their study, participants obtain the specific knowledge about all IT security measures and forensic procedures in events of computer or network attacks and will be able to successfully create the documentation needed in court. During the first and second semester the course expands the comprehension in criminology, computer and operating systems, data protection law as well as the basics of programming. “Bachelor of Engineering in IT forensics” professionally trains participants to further become IT security experts in a practically-specific manner while enabling to deal with the entire topic of Cyber Crime.
