With a total duration of eight semesters the study course “Bachelor of Science in Nautical Science and Maritime Transport” is offered by the Wismar University of Applied Sciences, Technology, Business and Design. Throughout the course, participants gain important knowledge about the ship’s command as well as the management, navigational and cargo handling operations of ship onboard modern container vessels, ferries and tankers. Students learn imparted topics such as mathematics, computer science, physics, engineering mechanics, maritime traffic safety, transport industry, maritime trade law and more. Graduates of “Bachelor of Science in Nautical Science and Maritime Transport” are able to specialize in for instance ports or cargo handling plants, ship supervisory authorities, maritime traffic control centers as well as in field of logistics.
