Description
With a total length of six months, the certificate course “Sport Medicine” is provided by the Wismar University of Applied Sciences, Technology, Business and Design. Geared towards trainers in sport who deal with complex medical topics and issues the course aims at imparting highlighted basic relationships and terms in sport medicine. During their study, participants receive professional comprehension in anatomical facts such as movement, posture, growth while learning about the treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of injuries. The course explores basic anatomical terms and students gain an insight into the basics of treating sports injuries while dealing with the topics of prevention and doping. By providing an introduction to the classic diseases of civilization such as abdominal obesity, high blood pressure, lipid metabolism disorders and impaired glucose tolerance, prospective students are also able to learn about the positive impact of sport and effects of metabolic syndrome. The aim is to understand today's requirements for competitive sports support in order to be able to make the correct decisions in dialogue with players, coaches, sponsors, relatives and more.
