Description
The degree program “Bachelor of Arts in Religious and Congregational Education/Social Work” at YMCA University of Applied Sciences provides a full-time study course with a duration of eight semesters. This integrative study course provides optimal training for a wide variety of tasks in church and society. During their studies participants will go through theology and social work, as well as thinking together and finding new ways to make a difference in church and society. The modular structure of this program includes the following topics: basics of biblical science, methods and concepts of action in social work, pastoral care and worship in community, social work with individuals, families and groups, child and youth service, management and organization of social work and more. After completing this course graduates are qualified for a wide variety of social work or religious education fields, such as youth officers, social workers, deacons, pastors, school social workers and many more.
