Description
The continuing education program “Coach in Youth Work” at YMCA University of Applied Sciences is with a scope of 9 modules. Students in the course are taught how to support people in their personal development as well as in the diverse tasks and challenges of youth work well and meaningfully: from young people to employees to board members. During the program, participants benefit from practical units that are supplemented by well-founded theory. Some of the most important skills obtained during the course are the ability to apply coaching methods safely and appropriately to the situation in order to support the coachee in developing their own solution, and to make a reliable assessment of whether the matter raised can be coached or whether another form of intervention is more suitable. The program is aimed at full-time and volunteer workers in child and youth work, students, social workers, teachers and educators.
