The interdisciplinary program “Master of Science in Automation Engineering’’ offered by RWTH Aachen University is a full-time course with a duration of four semesters. The layout of the course can vary depending on a student’s individual background and previous achievements. Through the distribution of credit points, participants can fall into one of the following six areas: advanced, compulsory, specialization, application, rounding off and Master’s thesis. The overall aim of the course is to teach students how to make technical systems and processes work without human intervention. Participants in this course will learn how to model, regulate, control and embed systems in order to automate them.
