The “Bachelor of Science in Computational Engineering Science’’ study program offered at RWTH Aachen University is a full-time course of studies with a duration of seven semesters. With its interdisciplinary nature, this program is ideal for students who want to acquire expertise in mechanical engineering, computer science, mathematics, and simulation technology. Some of the modules included in the degree content for this discipline are Materials Science, Mechanics, Programming, Software Engineering, and others. During the first four semesters, participants will be taught about the fundamental aspects of the abovementioned subjects. In the fifth semester, however, they will be able to concentrate in one of six career fields: Energy Technology and Process Engineering, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Materials Science, Mechanical Systems, and Flow and Combustion. With a Bachelor’s degree in Computational Engineering Science, graduates can continue with a Master’s course or consider a career in fields where technical questions in mechanical engineering are solved through modern IT methods or computer-supported processes are used to develop innovative products.
