The “Master of Arts in Dance - Education, Research, Artistic Practice” program at German Sport University Cologne combines three perspectives in accessing dance, theater, performance and movement culture: the artistic, the artistic-pedagogical and the scientific perspective. Over the course of 6 academic semesters, students learn a variety of theoretical subjects, combined with practice and rehearsal. Movement and Dance, Choreography, Concept, Performance, Historical Aspects of Dance and more are part of the course curriculum, which concludes with a Master’s thesis. Admission requirements include a completed university degree or equivalent performance certificates from professional practice, at least one year of professional experience in the dance, movement arts or pedagogical field and the completion of an entrance exam.
