Description
The study program “Master of Arts in Eastern European Studies” at the University of Hamburg provides students with thorough understanding of the history of Eastern European countries, including Russia, as well as an insight into recent developments in the region. The subjects taught during the course of studies are research-oriented. The curriculum introduces to the participants the culture, language, literature and history of East Central Europe, Southeastern Europe, the Baltic Sea region, as well as Russia. The interdisciplinary approach enables students to get to know the scientific working methods of the disciplines and to expand their methodological skills. After successfully graduating from the Master's degree program, there are a number of different possibilities for participants: graduates can pursue careers as civil servants in public administration institutions or work as analysts in different international organizations. They can also find jobs as experts in academic and research institutions.
