“Bachelor of Arts in Linguistic and Communication Studies’’ is a six-semester degree program offered at RWTH Aachen University. This course deals with the description and analysis of communication and linguistics. Characterized by its interdisciplinarity this course offers not only studies in these two main subjects but also studies in engineering and natural sciences. In the first two semesters, participants will be introduced to linguistics and communication studies, speech, conversation rhetoric, grammar, phonetics, and others. The third and fourth semesters feature courses that deal with semantics and pragmatics, methods of linguistics and communication, as well as a practical component that could be an internship or study abroad. The final two semesters consist of а research module, professional fields of application, and modules dealing with text linguistics, and oral communication practices. Graduates can seek career opportunities within corporate or media communication, text consulting, public relations, and further education.
