In view of demographic change, the increase in chronic diseases, the internationalisation of markets and knowledge, the high quality requirements in the health sector, digitalisation and scarce resources, qualified further education for employees and freelancers in the field of health professions is becoming increasingly important. The part-time academic study programme Management for Health Professions aims to adequately prepare students for the constantly changing situations and practical requirements.
The study programme imparts the ability to apply business management concepts and strategies, among other things, with regard to the management of organisational units from the perspective of the respective subject-related training. In this way, relevant challenges can be identified and mastered with suitable methods and tools. Together with students from other health care professions, approaches to solutions, ideas and best practices are compiled and discussed. In addition to teaching the basics of economics and contemporary management strategies, the focus is on personal skills such as communication skills, critical thinking, organisational talent and creativity.
Goals of the part-time Bachelor's programme:
- Scientific deepening and expansion of professional knowledge with contents from economic sciences, health economics and policy, patient management and health marketing.
- Acquisition of competences in the field of health management, taking into account the diverse framework conditions
- Acquisition of methods for scientific work
- Enhancement of personal action competences in order to be able to communicate and negotiate confidently
- State and internationally recognised academic degree
The programme ends after 6 semesters (180 ECTS) with the academic degree "Bachelor of Arts".

Requirements
- Completed training in a health profession OR
- Trainee in the last year of training
- University entrance qualification (HZB)
- Applicants without HZB can be admitted to the degree programme after an aptitude test.
