“Teacher Training for Special Needs Education” is a study program offered by the German Sport University Cologne, created in two variations – Bachelor’s and Master’s. The university’s teaching program is designed for five different types of schools. During the study, the participants will pass not only the major science course but also an additional teachers training. The German Sport University Cologne has established successful partnerships with the University of Cologne and the University of Siegen where the additional teachers training will take part. The students are expected to further develop their interdisciplinary skills and to gain knowledge on different learning and developmental disorders, and the way to overcome them during the learning process. The graduates are also to be introduced to the special educational support, methods and teaching approaches needed to communicate successfully with children with special needs.
