The degree program “Master of Arts in Wood Science” at the University of Hamburg is designed as a research-oriented course of studies focused on the complex relationships between the science, management and policy of forest resources. The structure of the Master's degree program provides a synthesis of knowledge in multiple disciplinary exposures in the biological and social sciences. The main goal is to prepare students to manage forest resources within a complex social, political and ecological environment. After successfully graduating from the Master's degree program, participants are offered career opportunities in many different areas, including forest management, corporate or consulting, government conservation of forest resources, as well as the educational sector.
