Description
The advanced course “Media Education for Waldorf Schools” offered by Free University of Stuttgart in collaboration with the Berlin Seminar for Waldorf Education provides students with the needed knowledge and skills to become media pedagogues and media consultants at Waldorf schools. One of the essential skills of our digital age is media empowerment. Children and young people should understand how media works and to learn use it in a reasonable manner. A lot of Waldorf schools are developing a media pedagogical idea to teach students how to use media responsibly in the classroom. However, in order to properly execute everything, there is sometimes a shortage of appropriately educated instructors. The aim of the course is to teach participants how to develop and implement media initiatives in addition to fundamental understanding. The advanced training comprises of two modules, one basic and the other advanced, each lasting seven weekends. Completion of internships in grades six to eight is a requirement for participation, as the majority of work following the training occurs in the middle and higher grades.
