Description
Offered by the Geisenheim University the “Bachelor of Science in Food Safety” is with a total length of six semesters. During the course, the prospective students acquire comprehension in analytics, technology, quality, law and deal with the ingredients of raw materials, the assessment of quality features of food, storage, transport while learning the requirements for producers and legal framework. The bachelor provides practical and interdisciplinary training where participants deepen their knowledge in mathematics, physics, process engineering, microbiology, chemistry and apply the content in various laboratory internships in order to master the experience. The prospective students deal with the ingredients of raw materials, the assessment of quality features of food, storag, baked goods and confectionery as well as beverages form the product-oriented focal points. During the course, students have the opportunity to independently produce food such as frankfurters, salami, bread rolls, roast their own coffee or brew beer considered with all aspects of food safety such as HACCP.
