Description

Fed up with calculating abstract models? Not being taken seriously with your own ideas and ideals? Literally not seeing the forest for the growth of the economy? Ready to transform the economy and society in a sustainable way?

Diverse insights into the socio-ecological challenges of the present, such as globalization, demographic change, and the climate crisis, as well as into the cultural history and history of ideas of the economy, show you problem constellations and causes on a multidimensional level. Together we will develop plural perspectives for a systematic understanding of today's often unpredictable dynamics of economic change as well as the basics about the importance of human imagination for economic transformation processes. Set thematic priorities with your fellow students in the module "New Economies and Social Design" and face the questions and answers of sustainability and societal natural relations! Relevant questions are complex and need science-based approaches. With our support, you will acquire a comprehensive set of inter- and transdisciplinary research tools and work with research and practice partners on concrete design tasks in order to contribute to real change during your studies. Study business with us in a sustainable, visionary and responsible way!

It is a concern of the University that all admitted applicants can study at the university, regardless of their financial background. Therefore, the university and the HfGG student community are committed to various ways of financing studies. For example, the HfGG student community has developed its own scholarship model, which distributes jointly raised funds in a spirit of solidarity.

Requirements

The master's program is consecutive (building on previous professional experience). In order to be admitted, you must have completed a relevant bachelor's degree with at least 180 ECTS at a recognized university at the beginning of your studies. A relevant degree is one that a) is a degree in economics, humanities, cultural studies, social sciences or engineering that has provided significant basic knowledge in economic and social science subjects, or b) in which it can be proven that competencies essential for the present Master's degree have been acquired, especially in the field of economics, or c) in which fundamentals of economics have been taught to an extent of at least 30 ECTS.
It is also possible to acquire the necessary competencies in an intensive pre-study program with us. If you have any questions regarding the application requirements, please send us an email and attach a complete and up-to-date module overview (listing by name the courses successfully taken in the BA and the ECTS earned) and, if applicable, other previous certificates of achievement. The current module and grade overview are sufficient for the application; the Bachelor's degree does not have to be available yet. The study program takes place in block courses - living and working outside the study location is therefore also possible.

It is possible to enroll in the semester on a rolling basis. Feel free to contact us to consider joining the current semester.
