Textile Design is the process of creating patterns, shapes, prints and designs for different kinds of fabrics. Students in Textile Design learn innovative techniques, forward thinking and technical understanding in various sectors. They can learn the ins and outs of printing, cutting, embroidering, knitting, weaving, laser cutting and even 3D printing. Because technology is evolving at a rapid speed, new methods in Textile Design are emerging. Subjects such as Textile Technology, Innovation and Sustainability, Fashion Marketing, Design Methods, Aesthetic Theory, Production, Quality Management and Brand Management are taught in Textile Design programs. The practical aspect of the program is very important. Students have many opportunities to work on group or individual projects, so they can develop technical, innovation, creative thinking, analytical, project management and design skills. Research is also encouraged. Textile Design graduates need to be highly adaptable, knowledgeable, practically trained and ready to work in challenging environments.
